Why journalism?

I'm a journalist because I love finding the turning point.

Who am I?

My name is Justice Covert. I'm a journalism student at the University of Central Florida, and I intend to graduate in December 2025. I love storytelling and am eager to explore any opportunity to grow as a writer, editor, and producer. I love finding the turning point, whether on the field in a game or in a community. 

During my time as a student reporter, I covered student government and UCF softball as beats while serving in numerous leadership positions. I led Centric, a student-run magazine as Editor-In-Chief, and produced Knight Time, a student-run college sports talk show. 

This past summer, I interned with WKMG News 6 in Orlando. I wrote over 90 stories for ClickOrlando.com as a member of the digital team.

I pride myself on being dependable, a fast learner, and set on succeeding in any environment in which I'm placed.

Does NASA care about the Earth's new mini moon?

A space rock about the size of a bus will be orbiting Earth for the next two months, but does NASA consider it a priority?Starting last Sunday until Nov. 25, an asteroid called 2024 PT5, classed as a mini moon, has been temporarily captured in Earth's orbit in a "horseshoe" path before it will break loose and hang around in Earth's neighborhood until Jan. 9, only to return in 2055, according to a recent study published by the American Astronomical Society.

UCF's chemistry building set to undergo $40 million renovation in May
