Mr. 1,000: Darius Johnson reaches milestone in UCF's win over Tennessee Tech
"It means a lot," Johnson said....
I'm a journalist because I love finding the turning point.
I love storytelling and am eager to explore any opportunity to grow as a writer, editor and producer. This past fall, I actively sought out any way to explore opportunities outside my comfort zone, covering new beats, producing filmed content and leading an editing team.
I served as the UCF Student Government beat reporter for UCF's student-run digital news outlet The Charge, the editor-in-chief for UCF's Centric Magazine and producer for "Knight Time," a weekly show covering college sports for UCF's student-run sports programming network Hitting The Field.
Volunteering to serve as editor-in-chief for Centric and producer for "Knight Time" was to, in large part, broaden my horizons as a journalist. Producing a weekly show and serving as editor-in-chief has taught me how to manage time, assign tasks, enforce deadlines and challenge myself to exceed expectations.
I pride myself on being dependable, a fast learner, and eager to succeed in any environment in which I'm placed.
