ABOUT ME

Growing up, I was captivated by comic books, drawn to the backstories of my favorite superheroes and the evils they conquer. That fascination has seemingly bled into what I want to do for a career: serving a community by reporting on news that affects them. Probably closer to Jimmy Olsen than Peter Parker.

Interested in covering sports and local government, I am looking for a full-time reporting position beginning in August to continue my growth in the industry.

When I'm not rewriting a lede or nagging a source, I'm most often visiting a coffee shop, walking along a trail, or attempting to solve the day's Wordle. I'm also a big fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Jacksonville Jaguars, for better or worse.

P.S. If you're curious about the name, my parents gave it to me because I was born on the first anniversary of 9/11.

From early mornings in his high school gym in Virginia years ago to etching his name in UCF men's basketball history on Tuesday, senior guard Darius Johnson has arrived.With the Knights up nine points with a little over 12 minutes left in UCF's 80-69 win over Tennessee Tech, Johnson shot an open-look three in front of the home bench.
